Wondering if I'm on a different planet
Where we used to live in st Thomas, there were 2 houses that were built in the 60s to replace 2 terrace houses that were destroyed by the Luftwaffe, today was just one bomb, imagine being subject to those raids back in the 1940s ,awful
It was very scary as a small child and the siren went off. Bundled into the Morison shelter with mum and listened as the planes went over followed by the bangs and hoping it wouldn't hit you.

I'm guessing if they ever found one in Plymouth, they'd evacuate and then just let it go off as it would improve the area.

Seriously though, how brave do you have to be to go and diffuse that? I never cease to be amazed by the bravery of our Service personnel (military and civilian)

There's talk of some houses close to the explosion may have to be demolished. :(

A childhood friend who lived on Magdalen Road had a semi-buried Anderson shelter at the end of his garden, a cracking den it made, tho possibly more a crack den nowadays.
