Two big games coming up for Winkleigh in the next few weeks. North Tawton at home in the league this Saturday and then a couple of weeks later the semi finals of the Devon Senior Cup. No Winkleigh side has won the Senior Cup, the last County Cup they won was the Intermediate Cup 63 years ago.

Gutted for the lads today, beaten 3-1 by Millbridge from Scumuff in their Senior Cup semi final having lost their home advantage because the game was called off last week. Bizarre rule.

I saw a cup game on Saturday between Lyme Regis and Tipton St John. Steve Flack came on as a second half sub after running the line before that. 50 years old now , and played with a city shirt underneath his red Tipton shirt.

A 4-2 victory at the aforementioned Steve Flack's Tipton St John means Winkleigh have gained promotion to Division 1 this afternoon. It seems Flackie kept his boxing gloves at home today unlike the reverse fixture at Winkleigh when he was quite happy to pick a fight with all and sundry. Geddon Bauys!!!
