My boss's handwriting is atrocious, barely legible, and he holds a biro in his fist with nib end protruding somewhere down by his little finger. I have also noticed kids when the TV camera is in a school writing in the same clumsy manner. Don't teachers bother showing them a basic skill like how the hold the bloody pen ? My Primary School teachers would have gone potty.

Don't even start me on cutlery.

My handwriting is very hard to read too.
Years ago I used to have my work typed by a couple of secretaries. They prided themselves on being able to decipher my scrawl. One day they both came to me and admitted defeat over a particular word.
It was a crossing out.
Also, on one occasion I left a note at home for my wife about something or another.
She had to ring me at work to ask what it said because she couldn’t make head nor tail of it.

Irritating more that annoying. But i'm trying to find a playlist on Spotify for punk rock that does what it says it is! Searching for British Punk gives me a playlist that includes The Kinks! Mostly what I get is American punk and what I would describe as post-pink punk. Then I end up discussing with myself what the definition of punk actually is!

The song that was number 1 when my Missus was born. EDIT: BTW, "late 70s"? That was from 1971 (betraying Mrs H's age there...)!

"Soley Soley" is a tune though.

That is rather a disservice to the Kinks ! Their 1964 "You really got me" is widely thought of as being the first "punk" record and certainly stood out from the likes of Jim Reeves or the twee vocal harmony groups of that era. Much of this being down to guitarist Dave Davies who had a great deal of influence not only on punk, but with his use of "power chords" the evolution of heavy metal as well.

As I'm reading this, Waterloo Sunset plays on That's 60s.
