Quite agree. The Minute Waltz get grating after about 30 seconds anyway.
While Ponchielli's Dance Of The Hours wears out it's welcome long before the big hand has even reached the bottom of the clock.
Bill Haley's 'Rock Around The Clock' had to be severely edited and played up tempo due to the vinyl shortage.

Surely it was Bakelite back in those days? Used to shatter much more thrillingly when hit square on by an air gun pellet than soft of vinyl!

Too true.

I remember dropping a cardboard box full of 78s once.
Just a drop of a couple of inches onto the floor as the box was heavier that I thought.
No worrys I thought as I took the first 4 or 5 off the top and out of the box.
EVERY other one (about 30 in the pile) had broken ...

If you have little ones Jason, They're like pitre dishes, Once one in their class at school gets something it goes round like wild fire, They bring it home for mum and dad!

At 15 mine isn't so little these days!

That said I was around my nieces and nephews - ages 8, 3, 2 and three months - over the weekend.
