My two Granddaughters, 11 & 9 both play football at their schools, They both enjoy it and I'm hoping after watching the Lionesses it'll inspire them even more to carry on, This is the potential legacy the win yesterday did for whole new generations of girls and women to take up the game.

Brilliant to see the girls win the euros. The biggest shame though is the constant 'great win for the lionesses *insert little dig at the men's team here'.

Why can't we just celebrate their success without having a dig at the men who in the last 2 tournaments also gave the nation a lot of joy?

Or money to stand on their own two feet instead of riding on the financial shirt tails of the men's game. If they want to have longevity and not be continuously compared to the men's game it's a necessary evil I'm afraid.
