Is it? 15 years ago if I'd learned this I'd have been shocked and thought football was doomed but somehow, despite these ridiculous debts, it keeps going. Presumably due to Sky and Sky Bet propping it all up so they can continue to profit from it.

I may be wrong, but the implication (or rather my inference) was that these massive losses are *after* tv money! Mostly propped up by individual owners pumping in money…
