Anyone seen The Wolf of Wall Street, am gonna watch it at the weekend, so wondering if anyone has, what they thought?
Quite good film - no holds barred account of excess.

The time does fairly fly even at 3 hrs - and some of the drugs scene are genuinely funny...

Olympus Has Fallen.

Gerard Butler is a Presidential bodyguard who takes an office job within the secret service after a small incident at the start of the film. 18 months later, terrorists storm the White House, code-name Olympus, kill lots of people and take the President hostage. Butler finds himself in the White House and using his cunning, combat skills and intimate knowledge of the building layout saves the day.

It was ok and ticked along at a decent pace. One complaint though, and i'm really not precious about this, but i thought some of the violence was unnecessary - you don't need to show me someone being shot or stabbed in the head or a woman in her late 50's being beaten up. 5/10.

Alone in my polytunnel.
The film on top of my cup of tea. Dangers of living in a hard water town.

Inequality For All.

I implore that everyone watch this. It's the most thought provoking film I've seen in a long time. Being a long time believer in the trickle down of wealth, it's made me think again. Although I still don't believe in punishing the very rich, scenarios where millionaires like Mitt Romney pay less than half the taxes of his secretary have to change. The States has taken it to sickening levels, but even in this country tycoons like Philip Green pay virutally no taxes. Warren Buffet has kind of made a stand here and believe it or not, he's been branded a socialist by the right! Yep you have it; one of the richest men on the planet is a commy! I mean FFS. Political donations and the whole lobbying scene also needs to be reigned in. We need to call time on the extreme rich holding us hostage by saying they are the job creators, punish us and we'll create jobs elsewhere. They are already doing this anyway with globalisation and offshoring in order to maximise their profits.

Watch it. 10/10

The Wolf of Wall Street

Overly long. Glorifying in excesses. I don't really recommend it. Occasionally funny.

Far from Scorcese's best work.

I read the book(s) a couple of years ago. That was average too.

Not saying I disagree with your sentiments Jinxster but PG is not resident in the UK and that means he pays tax only on UK source income.

You're right, he spends five days a week and roughly half his weekends in the UK, but he bought a house in Monaco so its all above board. The tax system sucks.

Last Vegas

De Niro, old man Douglas, freeman and a bloke with a beard whose name escapes me go to Vegas for a stag do.

They're all friends from yesteryear and are now decrepit. Good fun though and funny in places. Thought Morgan freeman was good in a comedy role.

Worth a watch 7.23/10
