as reported by Bridgy on the former players thread Jordan has signed for Sheffield Wednesday on loan.

It is said on this thread that City have a sell on clause. But as that will presumably be only for profit above the 750k Preston paid us the chance of a pay out seems limited

I guess it depends how he does out on loan. If he does well it might persuade Ryan Lowe to give him another chance next season; if not I can see a few clubs being interested in signing a player who is still relatively young and has already started 75 games in the Championship.

As reported he's just signed on loan for us for the rest of the season. Problem is that although we play 3-5-2, Moore, despite being an ex CH, seems to like playing forwards and wingers in the 3

Last game we had a left winger (Marvin Johnson) a right back (Liam Palmer) and a midfielder (Sam Hutchinson) although personally I prefer Hutchinson as a CB. Moore will argue its down to injuries but we had a CB on the bench and have done in many games where he's picked the same 3.

We also have Dunkley, Iorfa and Gibson as 3 other CB's that are currently out injured so Storey may struggle to get a game if and when they are all fit but given that 2 of those 3 we signed despite them never having played a game again after serious injuries at their previous clubs will be sometime never

I'll try and remember to let you know how he's doing

We haven't got a pot to **** in so the only way he'll sign for us is if its a free....would you ahve to oay 20% of any loss that Preston make on him!

Indeed! I see the Storey loan as trying to get his game/career back on track rather than being a prelude to a permanent move. City's financial interests are only met if he does well at Wednesday, then goes back and does (really) well at Preston again. Even if he does (very) well this season nobody is paying a million quid for him in the summer.

in career terms then there are some similarities with Dawson (mid 20s, shown some real promise, played 50 or so Championship games, signed a long Championship contract during/just after one of his best spells, needs a run of games).

Yes, has played CB or RCB so could fit into Wednesday's system

So today Jordan Storey was on the bench while Wednesday persevered with a full back and a left winger in the back 3.

Result speaks for itself……..2 of their goals were headers from crosses/corners

Fair to say he might start next week

Oh well, anyway thanks for beating Plymouth Argyle last week. Looks that they are finally on the slide.

Yeh they were very poor….4-2 flattered them massively….can’t see them making the play offs which is remarkable given the start they had to the season
