Both Key and Jay have contracts running out in summer 2023. So value will really drop dramatically if they don't move on this summer. So could (must?) have been one of them. Sunderland unlikely as they don't have a manager....

You do realise don't you that my post you quote (referring to Matt Jay as a current City player) is dated February 2022 some 11 months before Jay left ECFC? As well as the date of the post, another small clue is the thread title January Transfer Window 2022.

In case it helps, the current year is called '2023'. Nowadays 2022 is generally referred to as 'last year'
