He seems to be given years to improve yet Elli Frear and Norwood were moved on there's a point there somewhere but I'm not sure what it is.

The point is he was given a lengthy contract, 5 years?, after a good performance at Wimbledon where he looked awesome. All the others you mention were on short contracts which wern' t renewed when they ran out. We rarely give lengthy contracts and was even surprised Moxey got 3 years, however if Reid was offered 5 years it's just ridiculous business. A risk that hasn't paid off.

But you would have thought he'd score more than 4 goals in 46 games.
He was lucky to get that many..

How on earth did he get such a long contract with you lot.. ?

..and why on earth does he have to keep spending it here !

One can only imagine that Tisdale, Perryman et al were so very impressed with him that they were afraid he would be tempted to leave early in his career. Even so, you'd think a 3-year contract at the most would be enough to secure the club's interest. I guess a risk was taken and it didn't pay off. Can't blame the player : club offered and he gratefully accepted.

A 5 year deal was a risky move but at that time they all thought he was going places. Three years ago he had Liverpool and Arsenal scouts looking at him. Sadly though he's declined his potential. Still think he may do it this year though

If he was that good with scouts checking on him three years ago where did it all go wrong then?
Surely there must still be some potential there something to his game? Guess jmgull will know the answer to that , having the chance to see him close at hand now.

Also means he's probably on a lower wage if he signed the contract when he was 19?

People keep bleating on about us losing players for free and that we should give longer contracts. This is evidence that it doesn't always work.
