Let's say it was Russia...

...what next?

North Sea Oil pipes going to Norway & the UK?

Let's play it forward. Let's say Russia blows those up too leaving us, Norway and Europe further screwed, what's would the world reaction be?
Well, Lord Ashcroft and Co would almost certainly blame the Labour Party.
While their fat-cat cronies would simply hoover up the even more excess energy profits, fill their carpet bags with the ill-gottens gained by punting against "their country" and then scuttle off to their tropical tax havens for the winter.

Not really Spanks.

I'm sure that if the North Sea pipelines were severed the Blue Tops would find some way to implicate the Labour Party.

New EU sanctions package looks to have some real teeth. In particular the introduction of secondary sanctions (sanctions which apply to third parties not subject to sanctions themselves who continue to do business with the sanctioned entity). For now it seems designed just to end the mischief of sanctions evasion via a third party buying EU products and then selling them on to Russia when it would be unlawful for someone in the EU to sell that product directly to Russia but as a concept it can be exponentially expanded if the will is there to do so. For example slapping sanctions on Tehran because they have been supplying drones to Russia when it is illegal for anyone in the EU to provide drones to Russia.

Historically, secondary sanctions have tended to result in over-compliance whereby third parties are so wary of running into trouble with major trading partners who have applied sanctions to minor trading partners that they cease to do all business with the minor trading partner even though technically they could continue to do some business with it without falling foul of the major trading partner. This has not always been a good thing but would be very welcome in this instance.

I think this would depend significantly on whether or not:

A) It was actually 'proven' (with evidence that could be shared without compromising sensitive evidence gathering techniques) that Russia did it as opposed to strongly suspected Russia did it.
B) The actual extent of the 'screwing' (and also how much further Russia could screw if they decided to).

The reaction could fall anywhere between basically nothing at all and significantly expanded sanctions / military support for Ukraine / mysterious explosions that damage pipelines which are important to Russia.

Does Russia have any underwater pipelines that go to somewhere that isn't Europe? I wouldn't have thought there were. Destroying those pipelines would be an on land affair, and therefore if things weren't messy before, they certainly would be after that.

I can only see nuclear war.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Re The Nord Stream damage, that’s a heck of a lot of methane released into the atmosphere, a damaging greenhouse gas.
I would image the pipeline would have to be kept under pressure even though there is no load flowing though it.
