He was great in his first full season as a RWB for us when he had loads of space in front of him to flourish. The problem was he got injured before the next season started and we played a back four where Josh Key was the star in the RB role.
On the right of a three with Randall and Jay iirc, all of them just behind Bowman. I thought that worked quite well, or does my memory deceive me?

That sounds more like what I remember as Williams wasn't exactly in the queue for defending.

Wasn't renowned for going past a player in his last season with us. Wasn't a great loss when he left.

As far as I'm concerned, he shot himself in the foot (probably his right foot) with his interview when he signed. He was already talking about using us as a stepping stone to bigger things. Which, obviously, most players are hoping to do, but as a fan it's not really what you want to hear.

When we played Randall, Jay and Williams in an attacking 3 behind Bowman, he was superb.

Collins and Taylor in midfield with a flat back 4.

Did he start or was he on the bench for Bolton today? There are two Williams in the Bolton squad but no initials against them.

Subbed in the 75th minute - 'injury'.
