We actually had a couple of Exeweb 'tournaments' there. A long time ago now...

I often used to go there with family if I was in the UK in the summer. Good fun . Sad to hear it's gone but at least they're not putting up a concrete monstrosity there. Need to build a new one but don't know where they could do it.

I think we did it three times, Lez. About a dozen of us the first year, maybe 7 or 8 the time after and only a handful the third time. Manc will probably remember more accurately than me. I remember Barmy never showed up despite claiming to be Exeweb's answer to Seve Ballesteros.

Whether that's indicative of the general decline in Exeweb's popularity at the time or simply the appalling prospect of socialising with me and/or Joey is one of life's mysteries.

I'll see if I can dig up the old thread, if it still exists.

I only played once but remember a second event happening. There were about 12 of us first time including a large contingent from north devon and some curly haired scruffy tosser

EDIT: Looks like there were only two events. For some reason I thought Lammie won the first year, that's why I thought there were three.

I can’t even remember doing that. Where did we do it? Did I do it more than once? I just read the old thread and there are 15 pages just trying to arrange a date. Were there any photos? The link on the old thread doesn’t work. Do I have to do it again? Do I have to wake Red Robbo up from his Vampire slumber?
