Pollock confirmed

"Exeter City boss Gary Caldwell is understood to have played a key role in persuading Pollock to make the move to St James’ Park."
Excellent news and he’s usually a reliable source.

Isn’t this a positive thing? If it’s true that a number of clubs have been chasing him, but Caldwell was instrumental in bringing him to City (hopefully), that’s surely a good sign?

Yes absolutely it is! Well done GC on beating opposition. With GC persuasiveness and our reputation of youth it's an excellent combination. Many teams climb the ladder just using loan signings.

He is a defender and seemingly a well rated defender and lets be honest we need defenders.

Good signing, assuming its true

Seems like he’s very good in the air and strong as ****. The only issue I’ve read is that he’s not the quickest but in a back 3 he should be fine.

As long as he's better than Jonathan Grounds he will be an improvement to the squad.*

*I like Jonathan Grounds but he is not a League 1 centre half.

Kind of linked to our transfer window, and apologies if previously mentioned.

Perhaps deserves its own thread, anyone seen this article?

Highest League 1 earners, puts into perspective what we are up against wage wise...

Note that a lot of them are loanees, so it makes you wonder how much the parent club are paying?

This is also true, but the wages are staggering for L1

Gave it a thread of its own to save cluttering this one
