Conjures up the image of you approaching Alex Fisher, looking at him squarely in the chest, and repeating that comment ! Lol.
Don't worry I will tell him that.

I had a shout at David Wiese (Sussex) at the County Ground on Sunday. Lank, greasy long haired git. I was within my rights to tell him to get a feckin' haircut.

Let your hair hang down
Let your hair hang low
Can you tie it in a ribbon
Can you tie it in a bow
Can you wear it over your shoulder
Like a continental soldier
Let your hair hang low.

Long hair anger Alistair? You're sounding like my grandma. :D

LHA syndrome and proud of it Geoffrey. I am sure your gran exercised excellent judgment.

The lads at school used to have to wear caps in woodwork and metalwork class if they had long hair. This was real woodwork, cutting up and planing bits of wood and real metal bashing mind. Not the poncy design stuff. ;)

Ah. I remember real woodwork Al. Its when i had to make things that no one had any use for to the woodwork teachers own design, one he had been using for nearly 40 years. :)

Truely fascinating to watch the British media and pundits contort themselves into all sorts of shapes to display their 'sympathy' for Bale's plight yet somehow not have the same sympathy for a a player like, hmmmmmmmm let me think, Paul Pogba.

Can anyone explain this strange phenomena?

I'm glad his move to China fell through and not because of the money. If that's what he can get, good luck to him. I'm glad it fell through because I think Bale would be selling his career and his ability down the river. He is still far too good a player to be wasting his time in the footballing backwaters of China. He still first choice material for almost any team in Europe and if, as all footballers will have us believe, football is their passion and they're thankful that they can make a living out of it take the pay cut, go somewhere where he is wanted and will be playing and get back to showing how good a player he still is. He will find himself a whole lot happier than he probably is in Madrid at the moment.

As a TEFL teacher who has been teaching Spaniards over the last few years I can tell you they are not happy with him. "We spent £80m on a £40m player." "We ordered a sports car - we got a push bike."
Bale hasn't learnt the language, he doesn't appear to want to get on with his fellow players nor the fans. He cries off injured for games that don't interest him, then always appears fit for big games like El Classicos / CL Finals. It's not so much that Zidane doesn't get on with him, it's that he simply can't trust him. For all the criticism Ronaldo got, he always turned up when he was needed. Bale doesn't. With CR gone the perfect platform was there for Benzema or Bale to step up and fill his boots. Bale has failed to do so.
ZZ has had enough and so have the fans.

The difference is that Bale has not been advocating for a move, but Pogba has said on previous occasions that he does want to. With Pogba it's been an ongoing saga for far too long, very probably instigated by his agent who would stand to gain mucho dinero.
As an MU fan I'd love for him to stay but without all the drama.

Even Ronaldo had problems with the Madrid fans and often spoke about leaving.
It's true that Bale has only averaged about 20 league games a season, partly through injury and partly through non-selection.
Apparently he's the shy type and maybe he just couldn't adapt to the Ramos clique which exists at Madrid. I agree he should have learned Spanish : big mistake not to do so. Maybe he's just no good at languages.
He's not a favourite player of mine : I just think he's been a scapegoat. Just let him go if ZZ doesn't want him.

A scapegoat ? For a man in his 20s to accept an offer to play in Madrid for mega bucks and associated privileges, and six years on still be unable to speak the lingo, even at a modest level, is indefensible. Training ground communication would have proved difficult and frustrating for the staff and players, tolerable perhaps for the first couple of seasons but thereafter ? Aloof, at times selfish and arrogant, no team player, who can blame them wanting to get rid.
