I am amazed at City's lack of full backs, do we have a right back on our books ? We had Ribiero, but we have not replaced him with anybody. Do we not have any cover for Woodman, is CRL not deemed good enough to step straight in at this position ?

Why are we starting against Newport with 2 centre half's as full backs when we can play Stacey at RB and CRL at LB, both these lads are quick and will attack the flanks as well.

Midfield is just as bad with only Taylor showing showing any guts, Harley,James and Oakley are all too slow, how about trying Sweeney alongside Taylor. Just my thoughts, but if we are to give Barnet a hiding we have to change the format from the Newport debacle.

Don't know if Stacy is carrying an injury, or out of favor for some reason, or if it's just one of Tizzy's annoying and frustrating team selections created from his imaginary wizardry.

....and you're right - our midfield must be the most plodding midfield in the division.

Tis does (in the main and with some notable exceptions), tend to favour experience over youth and energy, and to value players who can play out of position, even in the face of the evidence. Also, it seems to be part of his defending space and keeping your position philosophy.

But although we may whinge, he's the manager and that's why we pay him all that money. Also he sees the players in training and we don't. So I defend his right to pick his team his way, even though it infuriates me.

I just wish he was not so "comfortable" and had more incentive to be positive, especially at home.

Back to the fullbacks, even the long-term injury McCready is not really a FB but a converted midfielder. We do however, have two good young fullbacks, in Kyle Egan and Connor Riley-Lowe. Tis must think they are not yet ready. And CRL is I suppose more of a wing back than a specialist fullback, though whenever I have seen him playing FB he has done a decent job..

We will never know until they are given game time.

Personally I'd try a back 3 of Sweeney, Troy B ands JMT (Croll if unfit) with Stacey and CRL as wing backs and leave out Harley, who a passenger most of the time and is costing us points. Taylor and ANO, presumably James, in the middle, front 3 of Wheeler, Reid and Ollie. But I know that won't happen, for the reasons discussed above.

Watching City has never been an easy ride, but Saturday left me feeling numb. We gave the game away so easily...

Well Oliver , you've hit the nail on the head ( along with the numerous other folk on these boards who have mentioned the same thing over the last six months).
It's an absolute miracle I suppose that we're currently in a playoff spot.
Goodness only knows what will happen when the Maestro gets his hands on a slice of Ollie's transfer money at the end of the season , probably three left backs , no right backs , and a couple of TAH and Oakley lookalikes.

It is a bit of a mystery why Connor Riley-Lowe hasn't had much time this season, I agree. But those using Stacey's omission as a stick to beat Tisdale with gives the manager no credit for getting him to be so effective in that position. One of quite a few players that has got better under the manager this season. Hopefully he'll be back soon, and is it absolutely clear that he is totally fit?

In reference to the OP I think we have the LB position sorted. We have a first-teamer (Woody), with a youth prospect as reserve (CRL). The position can also be covered by both Croll and JMT. That to me is the ideal situation. With Woody injured however, it does seem odd that CRL hasn't been given a chance. Particularly given that Croll is only on loan.

We're clearly lacking a first team RB, although Stacey has done well, despite taking him a little while to grow into the position.

Tilson is arguably a CB, so on Saturday we started with 5 CBs in the team!

Shame one of them couldn't get a tackle in on their goal scorer.

Agree with much of what you've written. However, the point about defending Tis' right to pick the team is a little bit irrelevant, since of course he picks the team and nobody else can.

on the experience/full backs point, CRL is now a month or so younger than Dean Moxey was when he didn't even make the bench for the 2007 play off final. Still time for CRL to become first choice left back.
