I’ll take a Williams race winner next weekend especially it it’s car number 63 :)
It would be quite the upset but not as much if it was the number 6!

Business as usual for Hamilton and Mercedes as Lewis took his 100 pole positions in Spain....looks like it’s going to be a close race though with Max just a few hundredths behind in second..Bottas in a familiar third position on the grid.....Lando will be disappointed with 9th after toping the time sheets in Quali 1.

It looked like Max had pole wrapped up after his Q2 time and gap to the two Merc's but they came back. Third on the grid is often a good spot in Barcelona as you are on the clean side and can pick up the tow down into T1. Getting off the line isn't always Bottas's strength though.

Leclerc qualified well again. Ocon had a stormer as Alpine continue to improve. Lando needs a good first lap to get have a chance of getting in the F1.5 lead from ninth.

Probably get ready for an intriguing race rather than a banger...unless it rains.

Haven't seen it all yet (will watch the full race later) but there seemed to be a repeat of Hungary 2019 being played on Sky F1

Hamilton and Mercedes just to strong for Verstappen and Red Bull in race setup, Hamilton getting four laps more than Max out of the soft tyres was Key, from that point he was over a second a lap quicker than the Red Bull for most of the race and even had time to make an unexpected second pit stop before passing Max and taking the lead...despite all the interest being at the front of the race my driver of the day was Charles Lecler for his fourth place even though we saw very little of him during the race....Lando had a very disappointing day unable to make any impression on the cars in front of him.

Hungary Mk II.

Red Bull and Max had to pit immediately after Lewis's second stop but even then Lewis could have undercut him in one lap although he did get held up my Marzipan (not a typo!). When you pull a strategy like that though you need a special driver to execute it. If he hadn't already done it in Hungary, people would be going crazy. Qualifying lap after qualifying lap whilst taking care of traffic. Schumi did it once and is rightly remembered for it. Lewis does it twice to Max, the next champion in waiting. Sometimes Lewis is too good for his own popularity 😉. Mercedes do look easier on their tyres this season which is a turn around with Red Bull from last season.

Leclerc is having a very solid season so far. The battle between Ferrari and McLaren will be good all season I reckon.

Charles Leclerc has stuck the Ferrari on pole for tomorrow’s Monaco GP😯 Lando 3/10ths back in fifth.

Wasn’t a great race in Monte Carlo yesterday...the biggest drama was in the pits before the formation lap with Ferrari attempting in vain to to fix the gremlins in Leclerc’s gearbox...not sure there was a single overtaking manoeuvre on the track at the front end of the race, there seemed to be a three to five seconds gap between the top six throughout, as Lewis said the track could do with a couple of tweaks to try to create an overtaking place somewhere....whether something could be done or not heading down to rascasse I don’t know.
