All starts in earnest today with qualifying in Bahrain. Not much testing this year but the two big questions appear to be can anyone catch Max Verstappen and can Mercedes stabilise their twitchy rear end? This looks like it could be Lewis's toughest year since Nico Rosberg put himself into a bunker mentality in 2016. No doubt at the moment though, that Red Bull in Max's hands is the quickest car.

Elsewhere the midfield look as competitive as ever. Early signs are good for McLaren and Alpha Tauri, Yuki Tsunoda looks like he could be fun. Ferrari's engine has added some power or been allowed to be turned up again according to rumours. Work to be done at Aston Martin and Alpine, the internal battle between the two driver line ups will be reputation making or breaking.

Alfa Romeo look like they are trying to latch onto the midfield whilst Haas looks like they are taking over the wooden spoon from Williams. George Russell could well end up in no man's land trying to compete with the Alfa's but ahead of his team mate and Haas.

We will soon start to have the answers.
