In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
What an opportunity now to build the Women’s game even further. Brilliant to see Jill Scott as part of the winning team. Way back in 2006 she was a stand out player when the England Under 21s played France Under 21s at our very own St James Park. There were over 4,000 at SJP and who knows who Scott and her teammates may have inspired that night.
Scott was highlighted on the match day programme cover - and now joins a small band of players who have won a major international trophy and played at SJP.View attachment 8934
Thanks for posting this Martin, I went to the game, but couldn’t recall the year when I was asked about it recently.

Was the score 1-1. ?

Great save by City keeper then a bad fumble by her under challenge from big Bridgwater centre back for an easy tap in.
So HT 2:1 Bridgwater.
Fairly even game with more heavy tackles going in from both teams.
City right back subbed off after some on field treatment from physio.
City's 31 looks good.
Bridgwater looking to play over the top to 3 quick forwards. A very clear and frequent tactic. Sometimes caught offside, sometimes there's a foot race. City defending it ok so far but I think Bridgwater are knocking on the door so often it's likely to come off sooner or later.

Bridgy score direct from a free kick to make it 3:1.
Goal came after a lengthy delay following the foul which required the Bridgwater striker to be subbed off injured.
Ref made the Bridgwater keeper come 75 yards up the field to him for, let's say, her suggesting he should have initially played advantage!
10 mins into second half. Currently one way traffic, not in City's favour.
Multiple subs have started to happen with about 30 mins to play.

How come Bridgwater have such a decent women's team?

Yeovil who were in the Women's Super League hit financial trouble and in effect relocated to Bridgwater a couple of years ago.
Bridgwater play one level above Exeter and have a very good women's setup.
All over here. It ended 3:1 to Bridgwater.
City kept plugging away but didn't really lay a glove on Bridgy second half.
Nice evening out, including me chomping on a lovely Chunk pork pie, which was part of an order delivered to my house earlier.
Went down well with my hip flask of whisky.
Don't worry, I'm walking home.
Night all.

Ok I hadn't realised they came from the Yeovil meltdown. Thanks for the info.

Any decent strikers that could play on the first team?
