Does the money received from being in this competition along with the minimal gate receipts cover costs at the very least of putting these games on in the first place or do we make a loss in having to stage them?

The gate receipts will cover the cost of staging the game.
To put a game on at SJP it’s around £2k & even with the relatively poor crowd attending these games it would be covered by gate monies.

Very wet around SJP at the moment.

Thanks for that Olds. So is a general League 2 game against a side who won't bring many away fans around £2k also? I am surprised as I thought it would be a lot more than that. Interesting.

Yep..That’s the general figure(minimum)I was told a season ago.
If you have one stand open,obviously less stewards,but you would still have other significant costs to comply with the ground safety certification(medical staff,cctv staffetc)
Full time ground staff have more work to do on the pitch after the game & the next day.
Costs all built in to that figure I would imagine.
