Sorry my record starting these lately is **** poor, however here goes anyway. I'm done being positive, can't take the disappointment anymore. Maybe that'll turn out to be the key and we'll put in a real performance come lunchtime. Here's hoping. I think this will finish 1-1. Surely we'll look more threatening with the big man back up top but unless a few others can arrest their slide into mediocrity, I'm not convinced it'll be enough for all 3 points. Please let me be wrong! Jokull MOM.

These early kick-offs are unsettling, as they keep hope alive before taking it away later. We could be 6th by the time other teams kick off. Or 11th when they've finished.

Anyway, come on City.

Darned early starts! Looking forward to 3 points and a great game of football without any Brett Huxtable interference.

Hoping we start with 4 at the back and come out on the front foot here, we have the quality to win this game. UTC

Come in boys. Feeling positive this morning (despite the cricket score).

A solid 2-0 win please.

Potentially sunny! At the moment it's 2c - but factor in the gentle ENE wind and it feels about zero. There's 80% grey cloud/mist cover, but it looks as though it'll burn off in the next couple of hours. No significant precipitation in the last 24 hours, and we've had some sunny if cold weather which may (or may not) have helped with the state of the pitch. As a sign of the changing of the seasons the UV has been as high as 3 this week - though at the time of writing its a meagre 1. Update at around 11.30. Sunset is 18.03. I think there'll be a result today, Orient unlike Walsall don't seem to do draws - so it's just a question of which City team decide to turn up.

It's the hope that kills you. Still we really need to win this one. Bowman with a brace. UTC

Awaiting the rise of the academy boys.
Back to winning ways today. Its too early for us to drop away. We all know City need to put us through the ringer first, so a win to build that hope, before ....

Absolutely no idea what will happen today. We have had 3 different performances in the last 3 games. Colchester away we dominated and created many opportunities and were unlucky not to win by more. Crawley was a non existent performance, even before Parkes got sent off and the Walsall game was like a training exercise for us but we never looked like creating much or scoring, unlike in the Colchester game.

What is for sure is that Orient cannot be as poor a side as all 3 of those we have played previously and thus will cause us problems.

Bowman is back which could be the saving grace for us but we are without both Parkes and Sweeney which is a concern as Orient are likely to pose more problems to our defence than Walsall. They will be buoyed by the win last week under new temporary boss Jobi McAnuff and could be in that mood again where they fancy their chances today and have the confidence to take the game to us.

I'm not confident at all about getting a win from this game but assuming that Bowman comes back with a bang, both Randall and Jay actually start producing the goods that their play frequently suggest they should be producing AND McArdle and Hartridge are able to put up with a much sterner test than Tuesday night, we should be able to sneak this game.

I'll go 2-1 win to us as my prediction in hope, but am expecting a draw. COYR!!

If we lose today "will McAnuff be enough"?
