Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
The thing with the terraces, especially the big bank is you always get more people in certain areas, ie at the top in the middle with more space down the front and on the wider parts so not sure this 10% reduction achieves much. Either it’s safe to have 5000 in the two terraces combined or it isn’t.

to be fair generally it isn’t a huge issue although if we get over the line and see more bigger games next season it would be nice to get those 500 potential places back if it can be safely done.

I agree it isn’t a huge issue, I’m not concerned at all, just interested. Probably because I’ve been telling football-supporting mates about our sell-outs recently and their first question is always “what’s your capacity?” so it’s got me interested in what it is.

Then hearing it’s 8,720 but we only got 7,500 in a sold out game got me intrigued as to why (clearly the away end was a decent chunk of the difference).

Nice ‘problem’ to have though.

Suspect the club voluntarily reducing the working capacity below the 8,720 figure, and showing their workings, is a good way to make sure the decision isn't taken out of their hands by your local safety advisory group. Given it's size, your Big Bank is a pretty unique structure - and you could imagine any sort of close-call/inability of services to attend to medical incident caused by being 'too full', even within capacity, could result in far bigger reductions than those the club has announced.
