5 years ago..The start of the Scottish tour at Methil.
A 1-1 draw with East Fife.

Can’t recall who scored for the Grecians but I do recall Roger HK was wearing a kilt 😎

According to this https://www.exeweb.com/forums/threads/east-fife-afc-v-exeter-city-afc-2015-16-friendly-official-match-day-thread.56523/ it seems to be Ribs with the goal. Not too much enthusiasm for our trialist that day it seems. A certain Alex Fisher 😲.

Kells said that he earned a better weekly wage as a Electrician at Falmouth Dockyard than his weekly wage at SJP when he signed.
He was determined to take the chance to be a pro footballer at 24.
*Edit,no idea why the post from FB was removed !...Anyway it did not say too much, just had a couple of photos of the Grecian legend.
Kells had to ask John Newman for a bit of Petrol money to get back to Falmouth after he met Newman at Ashburton to sign the contract.
They were originally going to meet at the Tamar Bridge, but Newman forgot & hastily arranged to meet Kells in Ashburton instead..😁

When he signed, I liked his confident promise that he would "fill the net up"!

Exactly 100 years ago on this date 28th August 1920 the Grecians played their first game in the Football League in the newly formed Division Three.
The Grecians beat Brentford at SJP 3-0

The new division was formed from the 21 clubs in the Southern League First Division(A professional full
time league) plus Grimsby Town.
