Fred Whitlow made his debut today back in 1931. One of City's greatest players.
Was at Cardiff after leaving us, but not for long. Normal goalscoring service was resumed when he moved on to Barry Town.

There's a Fred thread on the Charlton website............

Is he the only player to have scored six in one match for City (in a Div 3 South Cup match against, I think, Crystal Palace, I believe the match finished 11-6)?
24 January 1934, Exeter 11 C Palace 6.
Whitlow 6, Hurst 2, Wrightson 2, Scott, 2000.

Those goals come on top of the 62 League and FA Cup goals mentioned above.

Remembered about a big FA Cup win, checked.

3 October 1908, Exeter 14 Weymouth 0.
Bell 6, McGuigan 4, Copestake 2, Watson, Parnell, 5000.

Exeter's very first FA Cup match.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
This was the game shortly after Diana died when City were top of the table and hundreds of City fans were locked out of the game.
The turnstiles on the away end were shut about 10 mins before KO,I & others quickly ran to the popular side & got in there before the old bill wised up & shut those turnstiles..About 40 of us managed to get in.

A few city fans were stood on the walls of the gardens of the houses behind the away end watching(before the covered away stand was built)

There was a big clearout at the end of that season, which didn't do any good.
