In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Remember going to Brentford the following season only to be dumped out of the competition in the first round 😞
Yep..Remember that, lost 2-0 from memory. The start of many such disappointing results in the competition.

In recent times a huge disappointment was not beating Liverpool at SJP in 2016.
They really were there for the taking at 2-1 up.
I just could not celebrate a replay for that game.

Know what you mean all everyone well most people were thinking about at the final whistle after the Liverpool match was the pound coins.....when we played the likes of Newcastle and Leicester it was all about FA Cup glory and nobody gave a second thought to what money was to be had.

They were planted in what is now known as the Memorial Garden and hopefully will popping their heads up in the next month or two !

It would be great if a green fingered volunteer or two, started a propagation programme in order to gradually introduce them along the new bank formed behind the away end facing on to St James's Road. It certainly would be a most suitable way to enhance that area.
Flowering away nicely now !

Played Halifax on this day in 1977 won 1-0(Beer) what was memorable, two Halifax players were sent off in a real brutal assault on the Grecians.
It was unusual in those days to see one dismissal but two players from the same team was almost unheard of.
Interesting that the HT scoreboard was still used.We were discussing that last year & the consensus was it stopped a couple of years before.5FC8DB6A-F871-4BD9-84CE-F606C287F744.jpegC783529C-73A3-4F15-9DD3-A7A3AC0531F7.jpeg

Interesting to see that there were quiz leagues back then.

When was the last time we won on Feb 29?

2000: lost 4-0 to Bristol City in the tinpot. Wondered if we would ever play at Wembley ...

1992: lost 3-0 to Bournemouth and slipped towards the relegation zone.

Any others?

Now we have to wait until 2024, when Feb 29 is a Thursday.

We've got four years to get into the Europa League.
