Primroses, primroses!
There are still primroses at SJP descended from the original. Pete Bishop, I think, took some home and cultivated them over the years and some were returned a few years back.

They were planted in what is now known as the Memorial Garden and hopefully will popping their heads up in the next month or two !

It would be great if a green fingered volunteer or two, started a propagation programme in order to gradually introduce them along the new bank formed behind the away end facing on to St James's Road. It certainly would be a most suitable way to enhance that area.

28 years ago.Division 3(L1)Chester were ground sharing with Macclesfield at the time.Lost 5-2 & iirc 3 goals down very early in the game..Att was 871.Pretty sure that is the smallest crowd I have been in for a FL game.
Scorers were Moran & Wimbleton..77577F9D-A936-4CEB-BE0A-10343BA8EEDD.jpeg

According to wiki, Paul Masefield's one and only appearance unless he was a programme change! Someone I had (possibly understandably) forgotten about.
