A train journey should take 5 hrs each way. Where does 10 hrs come from?

No different then the sorts of trips we as supporters have to make and not on a luxury coach like the players!

lets be honest here, If the players had got one more point we wouldn’t be in this situation so they only have themselves to blame.
One more point and we'd still be in the playoffs. 4 more points and we'd have finished third.

The distance between Exeter and Colchester, IMO actually makes being away in the first leg a disadvantage. We're going to be knackered after a 20 hour day, with a game of football in the middle, with the second leg just a few days later.

I'm horrified to learn from the Sun (see link below) that our boys will not be able to stay at a hotel overnight and will probably have to eat a takeaway on the hoof !
Loving the use of ‘learn’ and ‘The Sun’ in the same sentence.

Agree.

As mentioned on another thread, City will have travelled to play game 1 whilst Colchester Ewes won't, and would have had to do the return journey to play game 2, whilst the Ewes would have only travelled once before that game. City would have travelled twice as far.

If the 2 legs weren't so close timewise it wouldn't be such an issue, but with such a short turnaround, with players not fully fit, it might be.

Having said that - 20 hrs return??

Hardly any traffic ? have you ventured out of Exeter lately, motorways are back to normal including the M25 traffic gridlock.

It’s a really long trip but we mustn’t roll out any excuses.

Yup! Last Friday morning and afternoon rush hour on the M25.... can't remember it being as quiet as it was! Jeez! Just as well we've not got Carlisle!

This is good news.

If this had not been possible the two legs should have been played at Oxford or Reading

As I said on another thread, there are hotels open in Chelmsford for key workers and as the authorities are allowing the trip and the match to go ahead, the interpretation could easily be applied.
