No, simply using the word our brave WWII servicemen used to describe the Germans.
Why would you feel the need to do that, 75+ years later?

For the same reason the French call us Les Rosbifs

Were there no brave German servicemen?
Yes of course and they had a name for our soldiers

Yes. My dad was a brave serviceman.
Never heard him use terms like that, though. Perhaps you're thinking of Lord Melchiot (?) from Blackadder or seen too many old movies?

Indeed. Perhaps, for the sake our our (one) nation we should ask Matt to ease off with his courting of HK - at least until next Wednesday (after England have been knocked out) :p

Kane wouldn't come to City....it's soooooo far away from Landin.

But, you know something : I've changed my mind a bit after some Tisdalian analysis of the German team's body language. Although recently Kane has a permanent Bowmanesque long face, I did notice that the Germans too looked right p*ssed off, leading me to conclude that we have two teams of miserabilists competing against each other.

So I'm changing my prediction to a miserable 0-0 score, with both teams losing on penalties .
