At the 'meet the manager' meeting Rob Edwards mentioned there was a player in the youth ranks who really was special. I wonder if it was this lad he was referring too? The big clubs have it all sown up. I think a lot of parents see their kid at this level as a meal ticket for life and it seems to pan out that way with trough loads of cash being paid to the family under some guise or another.

Congratulations to him and the youth coaches that work with him. As already mentioned it is a shame that the new rules play into the hands of the Premier League clubs so strongly but the reputation the Club is presumably beginning to get can only be positive.

I'd imagine that Exeter City will also make sure that what's actually best for the lad is the prime consideration as well as making some decent money for the club to reinvest in the youth set-up.

Absolutely right. Allegedly as soon as Grimes was started getting mentioned about and linked with whoever there has been a huge surge of interest from top flight clubs in the players within our youth set up. Can only see out Youth academy

Well lets hope the youngsters, and their parents, show some loyalty to City when they reach contract signing age, if only until they are 17/18 before their "big" moves. Is it not better to be a big visible fish in a small pond rather than lost in the lakes that are premiership academies.
