The lad will be playing the Champions League, if he does well it'll only up his value. Personally think Chelsea will end up selling on so that's where we'll make our big £££ even if it's 2/3 years down the line.

To sum up: I haven't the foggiest what's going on.

Heinze- how about this one?

The loan fee turns out to be £2m. We get 140k as 20% of the profit.

Then Ethan comes back to Chelsea and makes the three appearances that trigger an entitlement to the next 250k in appearances. City become entitled to a further payment of

250k under the appearance clause OR

110k being the 250k minus the 140k payment OR

200k being the extra amount we would have been entitled to if the payments had been triggered in the opposite order OR

Some other sum?

What if Chelsea have an insurance policy in place in case Ethan, god forbid, suffers a serious injury? What if, while out doing some community work, Ethan is involved in a tragic accident at Leipzig zoo, involving a polar bear that the zoo keepers believed had been adequately tranquilized? What if that accident curtailed Ethan's career and Chelsea were then compensated by the insurance company to the tune of £9M? What percentage of this would we be entitled to? What if advancements in prosthetics enabled Ethan to get back playing again, after the insurance company had already paid out? What if we had already spent that windfall on building a small terraced area to fill "the gap"? What if building work therefore had to stop, but season tickets for the prospective new stand had already been sold and bought in good faith? Could end in the club fighting a string of lawsuits against its own fans. Something to consider.

We're fully prepared.

We've bought some fortune cookies and a candy floss machine to randomise the outcomes.

I did consider this as a possibility. I looked up all of the legal ramifications and came up with a pretty conclusive answer...then I found out that Leipzig Zoo hasn't had a polar bear for years, so your point is frankly ridiculous.
