I think your bowling might be a bit lacking TPC. Bowling all rounder needed ?
Already five bowlers in place, Anderson and Archer opening up with Woakes and Stokes taking over before Ali turns the screw.

Ben Stokes seems to be used a bit sparingly these days and I am not that keen on Ali. Who knows if Archer can do Test cricket ?

What is your issue with Broad ? I know he is a bit of a to55er and his batting has gone but his record in England is good.

I'm surprised Curran is out of the picture and feel his development has been held back. Is there an issue with him?

He is playing in the meaningless test against Ireland starting tomorrow with Anderson injured and Lewis Gregory missing out.

I like Curran a lot but he needs to add a yard of pace to be really effective as a test match bowler IMO

Ok Ali. So he's just not fast enough.

Yep. Got it. The choice would be Stokes or Curran, right? He's an all-rounder.

Ben Stokes is a must select and could in my view develop into a specialist batsman if he wanted to.

In typical English conditions Curran is a good choice but could not supplant Stokes.

Woakes is also a very technically correct batsman and I would not mind experimenting with him up the order.

Yes, Stokes is irreplaceable at the moment, even more so due to his hero status. We seem to have a fair few all-rounder types and pretty good fast bowling section, albeit Anderson and Broad are nearing the end.
But we do need one or two more options for 1,2 & 3.

Bloody typical. Roy out for 5. 36-2 against Ireland.
