Lots of rumours suggesting EFL and Premier league rights could be sold together with the EFL Getting 25% of the revenue and a scrapping of parachute payments.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/efl-set-agree-multi-million-27699023

Parry has also previously called for the scrapping of parachute payments and asked for a fairer share of TV revenue for the 72 clubs. He wants the rights for the EFL to be sold alongside the Premier League, with the former getting 25 per cent of the revenue. Parry argued that this would help remove the “cliff edge” which exists between the top flight and the second tier.

This could be a reason why ITV Only signed a 2 year deal with the EFL for highlights and why Sky look to have agreed a deal for upto 80 SPL Matches if they think they may lose EFL Rights or lose aspects of them from 2025.

I personally this happens as it will help clubs. Also there seems to be some competetion on the market coming up with Viaplay, Amazon, Sky, BT (Discovery Eurosport), DAZN looking at increasing their rights portfolio's. Also ITV and Channel 4 Seem keen on Live sport again, which could provide a live FTA angle for the EFL etc.

This seems unlikely. Wasn't the PL created because those clubs in the top division wanted a bigger share of TV revenue?

I personally and this is a personal opinion think the best way forward to the EFL, Premier league and maybe conference, is to have an English football app which is £10 per month, worldwide. You can watch any match etc. All available. 100m people subscribe worldwide you get £10bincome per annum (£10 if you only charge for 10 months so £100 per season). 50% prem get at £5b (Which is a 100% increase from current numbers) 25% Championship at £2.5b, 12% League one £1.2b, 8% League 2 £800m and 5% conference at £500m. Obviously just numbers thrown in, would expect a bigger surge towards the prem.

If you talk at the levels Parry is suggesting then and not including conference via the app idea.

Prem 75% - 7.5b per annum
Champ - 13% - 1.3B per annum
League one - 8% - £800m per annum
League two - 4% - $400m per annum

Obviously this is all fantasy but if you see below the sort of numbers we are talking could be nothing at 100m households.

How many people watch a Premier League match worldwide?

4.7 billion – Research from a company called SPORT+MARKT has found that the Premier League boasts an annual TV audience of 4.7 billion. The consultancy firm found that games are viewed in 643 million homes around the world, along with a host of bars and restaurants.18 Aug 2022

You could then still sell highlights of all divisions to FTA TV and maybe include a FTA live packs domestically to compliment and give that exposure. Maybe all playoff finals, a match per round in the premier league, champ etc.

To add to this, obviously the FA Cup and League cup could be sold to FTA TV. Ultimately this way would see revenue streams increase massively, increase the FTA exposure for football which would help with Sponsorship. It could also help reduce ticket prices (So the increase could in part subsidise that.

Obviously the FTA Exposure would be within the UK Only. Internationally it would be via the app at £10 per month.

Unlike Robbie Savages 606 Football phone in (sorry Prem phone in unless it's Pompey or Macclesfield) - arise Sir Jeff Stelling who I would vote for to replace Robbie !

Above this i have highlighted the sort of money the EFL / Premier league could make via selling directly to consumer. I personally feel this is the best way forward for football to work together.

Football app screening all matches from Prem, EFL and conference. Then sell FA cup, League cup and 1 match per week from prem (3rd pick), champ (2nd pick) to FTA TV to have guaranteed incomes and exposure.

EFL looking at their next TV deal are considering getting rid of the 3pm TV blackout the BBC's Sport website reports.
