Disgraceful Scenes at Home Park

Would it not be better to switch the away end to the end nearest the car park in December, keep the home support locked in for 15 minutes and then we can all get in our cars and buses and be out of there before it gets stupid again, as it will. Half the problem with Home Park is that for away support its such a long walk to get out that Policing is a nightmare, yobs can hide in a massive park FFS, how do you control that easily?
I would like to praise the stewards we met last night, we stayed behind and were then taken out onto the pitch, led to the opposite side of the ground and exited into the car park. Had no trouble at all as we just looked like a group of home fans leaving.

This might come accross as a bit harsh however,

It was going to be nasty regardless, been along time alot of anger to get out ,

Why did you take your kids, I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it was expected, shame that its frighting for kids and i hope it has no reflection on there future support for us ,

However did you think we where going to share ice creams?

It was a shame to see our chav scum element ruin a football match last night. Unfortunately it seemed as though a good few hundred teenage chav 'ard boys had been rounded up by their middle aged ring leaders with the sole purpose of causing trouble.

As a football fan I want to watch football and I want to be able to have a beer with both Argyle and opposition fans before and after the game. I enjoy a bit of banter and I like to get both sides perspective on the game. For me that is an important part of football and is what brings us together as football fans. These morons who want to cause trouble are not football fans but somehow manage to tar us all with the same brush. They are a disgrace to their families, their clubs, their cities and football as a whole.

As others have already said, most Argyle fans are appalled by the actions of a minority of chavs. It makes me ashamed of the city that we can produce scum like that. I hope that nobody got seriously injured and look forward to the league game, well maybe not look forward to it yet, it'll take a few days to get over this one yet!

As an aside those on here branding us all as scum do no one any favours. It is that exact attitude that causes problems in the first place.

I agree with all of that.

As an Argyle fan, that post sent shivers down my spine, I find it an absolute disgrace how a large number or youth fans who rarely show their faces to support the club treated your fans today. Having been stood in the corner closest to your fans I thought the atmosphere was a really good taste of what a rivalry is but some things were taken way too far! It horrifies me to hear that the behaviour of our fans brought distraught to your wife and children, to hear that old men and children screaming is sickening, horrible thought and I can't stress enough how much a disgrace these "wanabee hooligans" acted tonight.
Please don't look at the Home Park faithful as a whole as a disgrace, a good 7,000 were there to watch the football and enjoy our first derby game in 8 years, it's just a shame that extra 500-1000 who don't come regularly had to spoil the evening.
As much as it pains to say, enjoy your victory and I look forward to December for the league game, would like to think things will be different for then but I can't see that happening. Good support and atmosphere you created, couldnt stand the sight of your fans cheering in that 92nd minute but things happen!

From down the road.
Completely agree with the above, it was clearly a large number of moronic part time youth that were causing all the problems. One thing i noticed on my way to the away end is that Plymouth could pay on the gate to get into this section. Not sure who thought this was a good idea?

Perhaps a similar booking system to that adopted at Exeter would have been wise. Priority members only. I hope we learn from this

i think this is an excellent idea! if we all had a quick exit trouble would surely be avoided!

A fine post, G B.

Reading the about the appalling crowd trouble has tended to take the gloss of a fine victory for us. I just hope these scenes are not repeated in our future meetings. It's so unfair that the innocent are caught up in this mindless thuggery.

Seems my old man and I got lucky.

We were in the far corner away from all the trouble. We could obviously see what was happening in the Argyle section, but not our section. I said all night I was amazed they had planted what appeared to be the most "boisterous" section of Argyle fans next to the away support. At full time I fully expected to be kept inside but there were no stewards whatsoever to stop us leaving and more worrying, no stewards to stop Argyle fans coming into the away section if they wanted (not sure whether this happened). We left and were confronted by a few idiots but just joined a crowd and walked through them, and evidently got out of there at the right time as it was all quiet as we walked to the car. It seems we got lucky.

Completely agree about the setup of having away fans having to "run the gauntlet" past the home fans stand to get out there. Utter madness.
