Swindon Town owner on TalkSPORT this Sunday afternoon saying he believes as many as 10 Clubs could go out of business within the next couple of months. Even a reasonably well supported Club like Swindon being unable to start next season without financial help.

If this should be case and we do lose a significant number of Clubs how will the EFL be restructured. One option will be to talk to the National League about introducing more Clubs Into the EFL not as simple as it might sound given the effect it would have on the Non League structure in general or balance up the remaining Clubs left in Levels 3 and 4.

If the latter that would make a complete nonsense of this season as all the Clubs promoted including ourselves, if we won the playoffs, would find themselves back from hence they came in League Two.

How will these newly introduced clubs fund everything?

There is no easy answer. As the shipwrecked economist said when confronted by a case if tinned food:

"First, assume a can-opener"

Far away across the field
Rumors of League 2 and the National League merging and dividing them into North and South.

If i had to agree with you we would both be wrong
His way of getting on a public platform to garnish enough funds to compete in L1 from potential investors ? Or maybe he could just sell the other club he owns.

Before you fill the gaps with National League clubs, you have to determine whether there will be enough teams from that division that will survive the next 12 months.

Maybe the premiershiite could make up a few teams to fill the gaps left by clubs going bust.

Now safely converted to HF68
This is exactly why the decision to finish the season is the correct one the priorities should be :
  1. Ensuring the safety of everyone - saving lives
  2. Safeguard the future of the football league
  3. Safeguard the future of ECFC
All of the above looking longer term rather than for a quick fix. Although disappointing I would sacrifice promotion for all the above.

Stay Safe All

Wasn’t that what was rumoured they were trying to do , introduce B teams? Now they might get away with it without having to bribe the EFL’s minnows.
