He was atrocious in the friendly v Swansea. Torquay needed a CB after Crawley picked up one of theirs no? He’ll get game time there.

All legs and no skill! There's probably a footballer in there somewhere!

Probably good for all parties. He looked uncomfortable in the pre season friendlies which has put him down the selection order. Particularly with our shift to a three man defence with Sweeney and Moxey tucking in. He basically had Martin, Parkes and Warren ahead of him. If short we can always recall Jordan Dyer and Alex Hartridge.

Shame as I think he could be a good football league player however as he was a loan player it's about the here and now and the short term. He wasn't going to get in the side unless we had a few injuries so you can understand why he has gone.

I think he will do well at Torquay.

Cundy was regarded by many as the best centre back in the National League South last season.

Hartridge is now playing at that level and Dyer is player lower down the pyramid.

I'm pretty certain that MT had it in his mind that he would be shipping out Aaron Martin (either permanently or on loan) before the end of this transfer window; hence why Cundy was initially brought in as cover. Fair play to Martin for forcing his way back into MT's thinking and the change of system meant it would be very difficult for Cundy to get any playing time with us at present.

The fact that Tillson is also still with us (another that MT was trying to get out on loan) probably means MT needed to reel in the budget a bit which may also have contributed to Cundy being recalled.

So he is better off getting game time and not costing us rather than be the sixth choice centre back which he was. If we get injuries we have good options to call back for cover both who fit in to a back three better as comfortable in full back areas.
