What a ridiculous batting collapse even by recent standards

I can't believe any sane person thought England had any chance of making that total batting 4th.

Even though I'm arguably an insane person, I had grave doubts as well.

Thank God it's over.

From 68-0 to 124 all out. It’s the pious hope that kills, not that I stayed awake to watch it.

As The Hound says, thank God it’s all over.

This latest dismal collapse by Fred Karno’s army beggars belief.

Feckin’ dire

Will the ECB act ? Not holding my breath.

Strines 37-3 at the close. They probably already have enough runs to win this one. Would love to see Mark Wood pick up 6 or 7 wickets. His figures do not reflect how well he has bowled.
My wish granted. Thank you God. A much deserved six fer for Mark Wood who has bowled with pace and hostility.

This is probably the only test where the Travis Head and Cameron Green partnership in the Aussie first innings saw the key part rather than the Aussie bowling being all over our poor batting (which was still poor). A total of 303 on that wicket was the anomaly.

And yes, we would probably still have lost anyway.

Yes, good to see. Happily, he seems to have stayed fit. He's a good team man as well, from all accounts.

Aussie Matt Renshaw will join the Cidermen for 2022.

On paper an excellent signing for the red ball game to shore up the flaky top order. (y)

Apparently plans to have two rounds of championship games in June and three rounds in July this summer. A slight improvement on last year.
