Somerset signing for later in the season Devon Conway has scored a century on test debut for NZ at Lord's where the visitors are building a strong position at 200-3.
Just as well he did it if somebody had to!

Cidermen top order collapse to 43 for 5, before Davies and Banton take them to 78 at lunch without further loss of wickets ☹

Thanks to a century partnership between Gregory and Van Der Man Cidermen adjourn for their tea time sarnies at 232-7 with a first bonus point already safely in the bag.
Just think how good we could be if only we had a fully functioning "top order".

Now delayed for bad light. Pity if we can't get a bowl at them tonight - there were due to be ten more overs.

Nice working from home with TMS on currently coming from Taunton as the rain continues at Lord's. Definitely can hear the difference in atmosphere with quite a few westcountry sounds coming from the crowd.

Northeast finally gone west for 67! Hants 154-6 (still 206 behind)

Stupid shot and a very flawed earnings. He could have been out several times.

Hampshire lower order attempting a similar rescue as Somerset yesterday.

An absorbing day of red ball cricket with the Test drizzled out.

Definite signs of improvement for the Zummerzet top order - they actually managed to (just) make it into double figures before loss of the first wicket this time.

Rain has killed off the match at the County Ground. I would think Hampshire are glad to have escaped with a draw. Apart from the first three hours Somerset have been the better team. I was surprised that they sent in a night watchman last night and then fannied around at 2 an over for the best part of the morning. Pusillanimous. Hants were never going to get anything close to 300 so a target of 461 was bizarre. The commentators wondered if Somerset were trying to favour Hants over Gloucs as if Hants go into the first division with Somerset in September, Somerset will carry forward a big points advantage. Seems too Machiavellian to me.

Greg Hill (aka grecian greg, once of these boards) mentioned several times during commentary.
