So Hants 258 all out leaving just a single run for the win.
Surely at least ONE of our top order will be able to manage that?
(Cue, inevitable "Somerset win by 1 wkt - Jack Leach 1 no :p)

Some rain (rushing on from what we had this afternoon) looks to be heading towards the Solent.
Hope the Hants fielders get their skates on.

Sorry come to Taunton this week, then it's Gloucs at Bristol, followed by Hants at Taunton.

The Sorry top order will be looking forward to a Taunton flat track......................but will a Bunsen be prepared ?

Cant see there being any play today at Taunton...or the remaining three days if the forecast is anywhere near right.

After the last 24 hours deluge County Ground outfield must be resembling a paddy field (or the SJP greensward by the middle of the season!). Any "Bunsens" will have been well and truly extinguished.

Such a "Sorry" state of affairs.

Remember when the Taunton groundsman "forgot" to put the covers on a couple of years ago, such that overnight rain meant the final day was washed out even though it was a lovely day and Surrey were well placed in the game...

Seems like rain will win the Overton derby this week.

Play no officially called off for the day at Taunton. The piece on the BBC Sport Cricket website makes interesting reading, it concludes : "Somerset are second in Group 2, MIDDLESEX are fifth " !
