Somerset's points deduction has been reduced to eight.
On what grounds? Literally!

Too complicated for me after a couple of very large Ardmore single malts :)

Maybe based on the number of points available in this year's CC?

I think that is correct

James Hildreth extends his contract till the end of the 2022 season. Good news.

Interesting. Thought he might retire.

Joe Root saving our sorry arses once more with well over half the runs scored, so far at least.

Poor support from all the top order but a good knock from Jos Buttler and with Dom Bess now giving support.

Could be a difficult fourth innings for us on day 5.

Especially praiseworthy as we're virtually 0 for 2 every time he comes in.

Could do with a 2 hour unbeaten 0 from Jack Leach now as long as Root stays in.

Hopes of us batting to at least lunch on day 4 now much diminished with Bess and Wood gone.

Root run out off the last bleddy ball of the day and we are 42 adrift

Can Jack and Jimmy bat a session and get us to parity ? Very doubtful.
