No more play today at Taunton following a deluge.
Agreed. In the old days he'd have been followed around by a large group of pointing kids, all making their derision very obvious!Just been watching a bit of Middlesex v Hants and very concerned to see that the Middlesex Strine skipper Handscomb has a bleddy pony tail. Feckin’ dire and wrong.
Too near the Bristol Channel and its ropey weather. Another grudge for us to bear against Essex in dry and sunny (usually) East Anglia! No more play today at Taunton following a deluge.
Hants back in contention in Group 2 with a 7 wicket win.Middlesex set Hants 66 to win.
Barker's knock was a superb watch first thing and, as you say Abbott was terrific. Hampshire's batting line-up still looks everything I thought it did at the start of the summer. Only two specialist batsmen to my mind and, as you've said before, one of them is liable to nick off against a decent bowling attack. If it were a football team we'd be looking at a side that do it on their day but didn't have the tools to mount a sustained challenge.Hants back in contention in Group 2 with a 7 wicket win.
A really tough day for batting at Lord’s in very indifferent light and heavy cloud cover. Seam movement and ball swinging late. Lost count of the number of LBW dismissals. Abbott in particular bowled superbly after an exceptional knock of 84 by Keith Barker who rather like Craig Overton in the previous match for Somerset played a match winning innings down the order.
Oh, Handscomb got rid of the pony tail and let his hair down. Still feckin’ dire.
Never did like them much!Hants back in contention in Group 2 with a 7 wicket win.
With regard to your football analogy, reminds me of Exeter City FCBarker's knock was a superb watch first thing and, as you say Abbott was terrific.
