What happens if the game is a draw?

Forecast is indifferent again tomorrow but dry and cool for the weekend.

Rooting for you boys to triumph over the Chelmsford mob.
There are various scenarios re the methods of resolving a draw depending on what stage is reached in the match, but if both teams complete their first innings, then possibly the team scoring the most runs in it, can be declared the winners. So the Cidermen ideally need to bowl Essex out for 300 or less to preclude that possibility !

First wicket for Gregory 32-1 but Somerset need to get His Sirness out as he has scored most of the runs. Somerset slip cordon looking too deep.

176-1.

Not looking at all good :(

Maybe we got carried away with Somerset dominating a very weak Central group. Bowling looking toothless today so far. Cook has played superbly.

271 for 6 at the close, and we're back in business. Sir out at last for 172. Another 31 for the first innings lead.

Yes tremendous fight back back in the last session.

Essex failed to punish the bowling when they were well on top mid afternoon and the 5 wickets after tea have left the match on a knife edge. Essex unlikely to establish any significant first innings lead now if at all as their innings must close at 120 overs. Ball still pretty new in the morning. If Essex get a first innings lead weather will be on their side.

Could be a tight finish

Essex secure first innings lead. :(

So they will be Champions unless Somerset can somehow contrive a win in the remaining (just under) two days.

Pitch still playing reasonably well.

How long will Somerset carry on batting ? Must bowl Essex out.
