Tim Bresnan joins Warwickshire.
That will feel weird to start with. I see former Somerset boy Craig Meschede has retired at 28 due to a shoulder injury.

That is a shame. A very useful one day player.

35 now. Wonder if Yaaarkshire were keen to move him on to freshen up their squad ?

There's going to be red-ball cricket this summer, although some counties wanted white-ball matches only.

A bit of a surprise that. Was expecting just T20 and maybe some 50 stuff.

Hard to see time for a meaningful 4 day competition

Restart at 3:30

Horrible leave from Dom Sibley to get clean bowled.

Ball nibbling around in the few overs bowled

Rain ruined day. Glad I did not travel up. :)

Back to the County scene, it looks like no Championship and instead a red ball competition in three regional zones with the best two group winners facing off in a Lord's final. Competition to be named after big Bob Willis which is a nice thought. (y)

T20 in three regional groups with the group winners and best runner up going to Finals Day. No Q/F's
