Solid start from Somerset in the red ball Central group shoot out at Worcester. Winner of that likely to get a Lord’s final. 83/1 at lunch.

Meanwhile another veteran bowing out. Ian Bell retiring at the end of the season which has been a very poor one for him. A very good player for England in his prime.

Not many England players, particularly modern ones, can say they are five time Ashes winners. He is also one of the most pleasing England batsman to watch when on form and that Ashes 2013 series was probably the highpoint.

Bit of a wobble at Worcester with 3 quick wickets going down. Need to be careful as Essex are putting Middlesex to the sword.

Sometimes you watch a sportsman or women in action and you realise you need to make the most of watching them. Buttler is one of those. He made today look run of the mill, which for him it probably was. As we saw for the Aussies the other night, to do that as regularly as Jos is something special. We all craved a Michael Bevan type back along when we were pants at white ball cricket. Now we have one with extraordinary shots.

Worcs collapse to 200 all out, having been 100+ for 1.

Somerset now in trouble at 90-6 with only Lemon Boy standing firm against the Worcs pie throwers.

Up to the lower order to get the runs yet again.

They may already have enough runs though as this is a "result " pitch.

Good set of games for the military medium trundlers with the old fart Darren Stevens picking up 9 in the match against the Hampshire academy dominated team.

Ciderboys now extend lead to 200 (wth 3 wkts still left)
Can they build an "impregnable" lead?....forecast for rest of today and tomorrow looks set fair for uninterrupted play.
