We're still a work in progress with the white ball, nowhere near as feckin' dire as we were 2-3 years ago anyway!

Yep you were indeed absolutely hopeless back then.

Starts properly tomorrow, with some mid-summer weather forecast too.

Make the most of it whilst we still have 18 first class counties

Lovely afternoon spent in the blazing sunshine at the Oval yesterday with a healthily good crowd watching on. Surrey were held up on their victory march by a masterclass in obduracy from Trotty but finished the job this morning. A good start to the season and a small amount of payback for the Royal London final pasting last September.

And a somewhat surprising come back from Hampshire after the customary first innings batting collapse to beat injury hit Yaaarkshire at Headingley. Steered over the line in the 4th innings by Middlesex reject Gareth Berg who has been an inspired signing. Thanks Jase. (y)

On paper Sorry look to have assembled a formidable team and any finish outside the first three in the real four day format must shirley be seen as an under performance.

Champions Middlesex potentially in a little difficulty at the Ageas but I expect them to avoid defeat on a fairly docile last day track.

We've taken advantage today of Essex not bothering to flip a coin, currently 203/0.

Harrumph.

Those stalwart "locals" Jarvis and McLaren drafted in to take 10 of the wickets. :)

Nevertheless a poor start to the season for the Cidermen under their novice captain who cannot buy a run at present. ;(

I enjoyed the Cidermen recovering from 22-5 leaving Sorry to haul their sorry arses back to Lundin with their tails between their legs. (rofl)

Might have been different if Sanga had not grassed a simple slip catch to get rid of VDM making it 28-6. (facepalm)

Cidermen's top order a concern with some woeful decision making/shot selection and having to rely on those local yeoman to get over the line.

It was feckin' cold though.
