Good question. I reckon Caldwell would give Adams a damn good thrashing.

However my answer is entirely based on my personal bias.
Interesting question indeed, my feeling is that although Caldwell would have the physical advantage, greater reach and strength but Adams wouldn't shy away from fighting dirty. Couple of low punches and wouldn't be surprised to see those little chisel like teeth involved.

I always think Adams is all mouth and no trousers whereas Gary Caldwell strikes me as much more of an old-school no-nonsense centre-half so not sure it would be much of a contest.
