You would think there would have to be a major enquiry into what happened and how it was handled...Can anyone remember when a city centre fire went on so long and caused so much damage to an iconic building?

A really terrible and sad day for the City.

Saw the flames re-alighting into the sky last night at around 22.00 from here on the edge of Tedburn after the fire had appeared to be under control earlier.

Possibly from the gas main rupturing?

That can't be true, surely they must have closed off the gas supply to that part of the city..
