Thankfully not in time for us to get drawn away there in the Cup

Bit weird that the administrator named here, Steven Wiseglass, is the same administrator nominated by Steve Dale; who put them in to administration in the first place. Dale may not have been an asset stripper, but appeared to be doing a good impression of one. Surely weirder still, given that an administration needs to be funded to deliver an outcome and that Bury went to the wall just over two years ago

For those that remember, Dale was the guy who the previous shyster owner enabled to take over the club once he'd used it for the purposes required and when there was nothing left to mile; who then posted stuff like this on their website (plenty more material on the same site for those so inclined). He took over almost three years ago.

I am sorry but to me this seems nothing more than yet another attempt by Mr Dale to squeeze himself a little cash for the rotting carcass of Bury. He seems to be flogging deluded "pipe dreams". Perhaps one day he will finally leave it to the fans of the Phoenix Club, to get on with restoring some pride back to Bury, football wise !

Fans groups Forever Bury and Established 1885 have purchased Gigg Lane and the rights to go forward as Bury FC. They are also in negotiations with phoenix club Bury AFC for intergration with the aim of bringing football back to Gigg Lane for the 2022/23 season. The deal was completed with the aid òf the £1million grant from the Government.

How did the government give the go ahead for a 1 million quid bailout?

That's our money they are using. I know 1 mil isn't a lot in terms of %GDP but it's still a chunk of money which would be better used elsewhere. Whatever happened to e promise of upgrading infrastructure and the NHS?

There was a caveat that it depended on the fans coming up with at least £1m themselves, which they did. However your point is still very valid. Good luck to the Bury fans, but why just them and not other clubs as well ? We not only got bugger all but had HMRC trying to have us wound up and put us out of existence. In Bury's case perhaps it was the timing, with Bojo on his "leveling up" crusade to win Northern votes ! 😎

This situation probably isn't as straightforward as it appears.

There has been bad blood between the AFC and 'Forever Bury' who are the entity involved with the purchase of Gigg Lane; and rapprochement might not be on the cards.

Those who've got Gigg Lane have purchased an old stadium that, presumably, has been falling in to disrepair for two-and-a-half years or more and wasn't in the greatest nick to begin with - but have no footballing infrastructure there.

I won't get involved in the party politics around it all but do wonder whether the stadium purchase will be anything more than a misguided gesture.
