The Bulgarian manager said he didn't hear anything and also said some of the chants came from England fans too, Here lies the problem, If their manager is closing his eyes and ears to this when we all heard and saw this then he is as guilty as the rest and says all about the mindset of the Bulgarian FA

Sadly while we've seen a spike in racist incidents, albeit more online than in the stands, we can't really claim the moral high ground here.

The fact we won 6-0, with "people of colour" scoring half our goals, should speak volumes to these pondlife.

Incongruous in a way, England's black players expressing gratitude to England's followers for their support last night. John Barnes for one would have been heartened by such progress. There's long been a nationalist element that's attached itself to Engerlund, and having witnessed Mings, Sterling, Rashford and co's dignified reaction to being racially abused while wearing the three lions, and the way the whole squad galvanised around them, well, perhaps this'll be a turning point.

I'm wary of the "bad apple" excuse when addressing often endemic problems, but in this case it seems clear that there is an easily identifiable group responsible for possibly all of the abuse. As an ex hoolie said on the radio yesterday, banning the individuals is the only way to effectively address the problem. In this case this should be relatively straightforward - the Bulgaria Bill must know who a most or all of these people are. UEFA's rules should be changed to require national FAs to issue bans to anyone identified as indulging in this sort of behaviour.

BTW I thought Danny Mings was magnificent - "I feel sorry for the people who hold these views".

Looks like Bulgaria as a nation is taking it seriously, the head of their FA (he of the miraculous regrowing hair) has fallen on his sword and a number of arrests have been made.

What about a small group of so called city fans away at Crewe singing insults at a player with ginger hair ?
Embarrassing

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Slightly off thread but on topic,Jamie Carragher has finally admitted that he & his Liverpool team mates were a bunch of cnuts(in so many words) in the racism row with Patrick Evra & the ‘back biter’
It has taken the uncomfortably events of the past week to bring out a grudging apology for that disgraceful episode in 2011.
Lots of hypocrisy over the years from the good & the great in the game.
