I assume this is a club-run thing and not subcontracted so we get a few percent or anything daft?
I think it was outsourced. The "BAR" signage on the metal fencing had the name of a company on it. Something LLP.

There should be no reason we shouldn't be able to arrange this sort of thing 'in house', give students a couple of hours of well paid work on a Saturday and take the full profit for ourselves.

I expect ******** will be along in a minute to say how sh*t it all was (even though he wasn't there) and that Stevenage's bar is so much better. And Dagenham's too - they don't get as many people, but they do have exactly the beers that everyone wants, at a cheaper price, with a couple of fit birds behind the bar serving too. And they've got a couple of fruities too.

Trouble with us is the Cheese has got a two year rolling franchise for refreshment supplies and all he wants to serve is stout and pale ale - it might have been OK once, but it's dull now and people want more choice. Even the Daggers manage to get two different lagers and Stevenage do bitter too. And look at Preston, they've recently gone one further and bought some tins of Dry Blackthorn.

F*ck all that, I'm off down the offy, it's rubbish at the Park.

Actually you may be correct, are our club so brainless that like you say we can't organise something like this ourselves? It drives me nuts. Yes it 'guarantees us money" but like you say - hire some students or even some volunteer supporters, stick to bottles, there'll only be the wages (if any), refridgeration, and tent hire as the only expenditure. Everything else comes into club as profit, so I can't see why we would need to outsource

Fans will be less likely to use it if its just another outsourced bar, but I half expect that many fans will make a special point of visiting the bar if they knew the club profited.

We need a fans forum to sort this kind of BS out

On hiatus.
I really don't understand why a high profit simple to run bar should be outsourced...

Had a chat with Jay Milling about this at the end of the game. The more the bar is used the more likely it is to remain and expansion in to the car park is not impossible in time.

You can smoke there but the club cannoty advertise this.

All profits go directly to the club although there are extra costs associated with the necessary security they need for it.

Personally I think the club will do very well out of this

Go on then, if it's that easy.
It is a great idea, but let's pass off constructive feedback as criticism.

You should only outsource if it is too difficult to do. If you can make extra profit by keeping it in house, this is the option you would choose, and people in the club are paid good money to make these commercial decisions. Maybe we outsourced it on this occasion to assess its viability?

In the case of a bar, it is simple as all your stock has a long shelf life, so there is no risk of wastage or stock depreciation and it doesn't require a high skill level to deliver the product.

I hate having to queue, especially if I was to miss some of the game You can execute far more transactions on a bottle of beer & bag of crisps than it takes to serve a burger & a tea, so the waiting time will be far less. Providing we're offering quality products, it will be a winner.

The post on the Daggers bar made I larf - I can confirm that they don't have a bottle bar for fans on the home terrace.
