Weather in Barrow. Think someone jumped the gun
To be fair 3°c doesn't do much thawing of a frozen pitch.

It does if directly in the Sun.

Yep. If the subsoil was frozen it would take days to thaw that out at 3°C.

Flurries of snow across the bay from Barrow, here in Morecambe this morning. Temperature barely above zero degrees, and indeed lower.

Mike,a good season for the Shrimps & no fans to see it...The locals must be pleased with Dereck Adams..What’s the difference, has there been investment ?
I noticed they have made some shrewd loan signings.

It’s Barrow, not the Siberian tundra. This cold snap has barely lasted a week, but, as it was forecast well in advance of today’s fixture, you’d think they might have done something to try and mitigate the results of the weather - maybe get the gritters out and cover the pitch perhaps?

Games seem to be getting called off far to easily these days (COVID notwithstanding), I wonder just what it was about a bit of water that Matt Taylor thought made Newport’s pitch ‘unsafe’? A fear of drowning perhaps?
